Love Those Home-Cooked Meals ~ Especially the Desserts! print email
Thanks to Miriam Gaede, Linda Hoffman, Janet McPherson, Sophia Yarbrough, Joyce Alsdorf, Irene Crawford, Helen Siert, Judy Petersen, Gladys Eckman, Mary McElwain, Donna
Brumage, Martha Cosby, and Mary Baker for the mouth-watering cookies and brownies they made for the summer supper the Mission Team prepared and served at New Genesis in June. The residents are so appreciative! They love visiting with us, and they relish the homemade meals and desserts!

While providing a stable and optimistic setting, New Genesis provides encouragement to its residents as they strive to live more productive, independent lives
and realize their individual emotional and practical goals while holding a job and remaining substance free. With God's help, the program really does work!

About seven years ago, after losing her home and her children due to substance abuse, a young woman came to New Genesis hoping to start a new
life. She ultimately worked for New Genesis itself, regained custody of her children, and was recently promoted to the Executive Director of New Genesis!
The Mission Team will host another dinner for the men in September and a Christmas Luncheon for the women; children of the women will be included in our church's annual Giving Tree at Christmas.

If you would like to be involved in one of the upcoming dinners or have more information on New Genesis,
please call Sue Warner at 303.637.9412.

New Genesis print email
One of our church's ongoing missions is New Genesis, the only homeless shelter for working men (and women) in the metropolitan Denver area. In late June, the Mission team provided and served a summer supper, complete with desserts made by Miriam Gaede, Linda Hoffman, Janet McPherson, Sophia Yarbrough, Joyce Alsdorf, Irene Crawford, Helen Siert, Judy Petersen, Gladys Eckman, Mary McElwain, Donna Brumage, Martha Crosby, and Mary Baker.

New Genesis provides a stable, optimistic setting for its residents as they strive to live more productive, independent lives and realize their individual emotional and practical goals. All residents are required to have a job and be substance free. The residents are so apprecia- tive! They love visiting with us; but, most of all, they love the home-cooked meals and desserts we bring with us. (For some odd reason, they seem to tire of spaghetti which, due to budget constraints at New Genesis, they sometimes "enjoy" three times a week!)

The Mission team will host another dinner for the men in September and a Christmas Luncheon for the women. In addition, the children of New Genesis' women will be included in our church's annual Giving Tree at Christmas.

For more information on New Genesis...or if you would like to be involved in one of the upcoming dinners...please call Sue Warner (303.637.9412)
