Brighton First Presbyterian Church is located at 510 S 27th Avenue, in Brighton, CO. Sunday worship starts promptly at 9:00 am and lasts an hour. When you enter the campus, the drive around the church is one-way, so stay to your right. The main entry doors are on the south side of the building where you will find ample parking.

The one exception is the first Sunday of every month, when the children remain in the sanctuary for the entire service to participate with their families in the Lord’s Supper (Communion). All who believe in Jesus of any age are invited to the Lord’s Table.

What’s the Music Like?
We stand up when we sing – and we sing a lot! We are blessed with an incredibly talented organist/pianist who thrills us every week with his beautiful arrangements. Our worship team leads the songs to keep us on key and all together. We enjoy singing both the old familiar hymns and the newer beloved worship anthems.
Bell Choir
Ringing a four-octave set of Schulmerich handbells, the Bell Choir prepares music for Sunday morning worship and special services throughout the year. Directed by Kat McCusker, the Bell Choir rehearses weekly from September to May. If you’d like to learn more, call the church office.

From September through May, there are two on-going small groups. Women’s Bible Study meets once a month on a Thursday afternoon based on a themed study guide. The Wired Word is a mix of couples and individuals that meet every Wednesday morning. They follow a discussion guide that connects current events to relevant scripture.
Throughout the year, members host “Pop-Up Gatherings” that anyone can sign up for. These can be game nights, coffee shop get-togethers, family hikes, potlucks – anything we can think of! These spontaneous activities are well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by the church family.

Brighton First Pres follows the Presbyterian Church USA Book of Order in its governance structure, which includes the Session and the Deacons who are elected by the congregation.
Session is the governing board responsible for the spiritual oversight of the church members and the administrative management of the congregation. Session must keep detailed minutes of its meetings, which are reviewed annually by the Presbytery to ensure they are following the denomination's constitution and guidelines.
Deacons are focused on the ministry of compassion, charity, and care. While the Session handles church government, Deacons serve as the hands and feet of the church's pastoral care, including visiting the sick, supporting the grieving, and assisting with emergency needs such as meals, transportation, and financial assistance.
Committees of the church include Finance, Personnel, Mission, Building and Grounds, Worship, Memorial Garden, and others when needed for specific purposes. These are the folks who keep the church organized, take care of day-to-day business, and cover all the other bases.

In 2025, a designated contribution from a member spurred the creation of a Memorial Garden which would serve as a space for reflection and prayer where people can remember loved ones that have passed on.
A committee was organized and the site chosen is on the west side of the building facing 27th Avenue. The committee worked with designers and contractors to create a semi-private space surrounded by open partitions, flowers, and a bubbling fountain. Family members can purchase a small plaque that is displayed on the partitions. For more information about the Memorial Garden, call the church office or fill out this form.
